SB BROW LOUNGE
Permanent Makeup & Brow Treatments — Terms & Conditions
By booking an appointment with SB Brow Lounge, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the following Terms & Conditions. These policies are in place to protect both the client and artist, and to ensure Sarah can provide every client with the time, care and attention their appointment requires.
BOOKING & 50% DEPOSIT
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all applicable appointments.
Deposits can be paid directly to Sarah in the salon or through the online booking system when making your appointment.Your appointment is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your treatment, with the remaining balance payable on the day. Deposits are non-refundable, including where a client later decides not to proceed with their appointment.
REMAINING BALANCE
The remaining treatment balance is due on the day of your appointment and can be paid by cash, card or bank transfer. Payment must be made in full before leaving the salon.
CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
As a self-employed artist, appointment times are reserved specifically for each individual client. Late cancellations and missed appointments can result in several hours of lost working time which may be difficult to refill at short notice. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please give Sarah as much notice as possible. Where insufficient notice is given, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to secure another appointment. Repeated cancellations or rescheduling may result in Sarah declining future bookings. Cancellation requests within a 24hr period of the appointment will require for the treatment to be paid in full due to insufficient notice.
LATENESS & NO-SHOWS
Please arrive on time for your appointment. Sarah understands that circumstances such as traffic or unexpected delays can happen. If you are running late, please contact Sarah as soon as possible. If you have not arrived or contacted Sarah within 15 minutes of your appointment start time, your appointment may be treated as a no-show and cancelled.
Where an appointment is missed without contact, or the client has reached out to cancel within a 24hr period, the remaining treatment balance will become payable in full to compensate for the appointment time reserved and preparation/products allocated for your treatment. A further deposit may also be required before another appointment can be booked.
COMPLIMENTARY PMU 6–8 WEEK TOP-UP
Where included with your treatment, your initial Permanent Makeup top-up appointment is offered complimentary and should take place approximately 6–8 weeks after your first treatment, as advised by Sarah. Although there is no treatment charge for this appointment, a substantial appointment slot is still reserved and sterile/disposable products are prepared for your treatment. If you forget or fail to attend your complimentary top-up appointment without contacting Sarah, the complimentary appointment will be forfeited. If you wish to reschedule the missed top-up, a £50 rebooking charge will apply to contribute towards the additional appointment time and products required. Top-ups must be booked within the timeframe advised by Sarah. If a client chooses to delay their top-up significantly beyond the recommended period, an additional charge may apply depending on the amount of work required.
PATCH TESTING
New clients must complete any required patch testing at least 48 hours before their treatment.
This does not apply to standard waxing treatments. It is the client’s responsibility to complete the required patch test within the specified timeframe. If this has not been completed, Sarah may be unable to carry out the treatment and the appointment may need to be rescheduled.
If you experience any reaction following a patch test, please inform Sarah immediately. Depending on the nature or severity of the reaction, you should seek appropriate medical advice from your GP or another healthcare professional. A negative patch test does not guarantee that an allergic or adverse reaction cannot occur during or following a treatment.
WAXING & SKINCARE
Before waxing, Sarah may ask about your current skincare routine, medication and active skincare ingredients. You must inform Sarah if you are currently using, or have recently used, products containing ingredients such as:
Certain products can make the skin more sensitive and increase the risk of irritation, grazing or skin lifting during waxing. Where appropriate, these products may need to be discontinued before waxing. Sarah will advise you based on the product being used; some products or medications may require medical advice rather than simply being stopped. If Sarah believes your skin is not suitable for waxing on the day, she reserves the right to refuse or adapt the treatment for your safety.
PERMANENT MAKEUP — RESULTS
Permanent Makeup results vary from person to person.
Factors including skin type, lifestyle, medications, skincare, sun exposure, aftercare and the body’s natural healing process can all affect pigment retention. While Sarah will always aim to achieve the best possible result, perfect pigment retention or an exact healed result cannot be guaranteed. Permanent Makeup is a process and commonly requires an initial treatment followed by a top-up once the skin has healed. Colour will initially appear darker or more intense and will soften during the healing process.
PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP
If you have existing Permanent Makeup completed by another artist, you must inform Sarah before booking and provide clear photographs where requested. Not all previous Permanent Makeup can be safely or effectively covered. Sarah reserves the right to decline treatment if existing pigment is too dark, saturated, discoloured or unsuitable for the requested treatment.
Failure to disclose previous Permanent Makeup may result in the appointment being unable to proceed.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICATION & CONTRAINDICATIONS
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information regarding any relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, skin conditions or other circumstances that could affect treatment. Certain conditions, medications or treatments may mean Permanent Makeup or brow treatments are unsuitable or require medical clearance. Sarah reserves the right to refuse or postpone a treatment where she believes proceeding would be unsafe or inappropriate.
Please do not discontinue prescribed medication without speaking to the healthcare professional who prescribed it.
PREGNANCY & BREASTFEEDING
Permanent Makeup will not be carried out during pregnancy.
Clients who are breastfeeding, have recently given birth or have other circumstances which may affect treatment suitability should contact Sarah before booking so appropriate advice can be given.
ILLNESS, COLD SORES & SKIN CONDITIONS
Please contact Sarah before attending if you are unwell or have an active infection, rash, irritation, open wound or other skin condition in or around the treatment area.
For lip blush, clients with an active cold sore cannot be treated and the appointment will need to be rescheduled. Clients with a history of cold sores should inform Sarah before their lip blush appointment so they can seek appropriate advice from a pharmacist, GP or other qualified healthcare professional where necessary.
AFTERCARE
Following your treatment, you will be provided with appropriate aftercare advice.
Following this advice is an important part of achieving the best possible healed result.
Sarah cannot be held responsible for poor pigment retention, premature fading, infection or other complications resulting from failure to follow aftercare instructions or from circumstances outside Sarah’s reasonable control. If you are concerned about your healing at any stage, please contact Sarah.
CHILDREN & GUESTS
Due to the nature of Permanent Makeup treatments and the need to maintain a calm, hygienic and focused environment, please attend your appointment alone unless this has been agreed with Sarah beforehand.
Children should not accompany clients to Permanent Makeup appointments.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Before and after photographs may be taken as part of your client treatment record.
Any photographs intended for marketing, social media or promotional purposes will only be used in accordance with the consent provided by the client.
RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT
Sarah reserves the right to refuse, postpone or discontinue a treatment where there is a health or safety concern, a contraindication, abusive or inappropriate behaviour, or where carrying out the treatment would not be in the client’s best interests.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
It is the client’s responsibility to read all pre-treatment information, provide accurate information and follow the preparation and aftercare advice provided.
Please ask Sarah before your appointment if there is anything you are unsure about.
REFUNDS
All Permanent Makeup treatments are bespoke cosmetic procedures, and individual healed results can vary depending on factors including skin type, healing response, lifestyle and aftercare. Across all treatments that SB BROW LOUNGE offers, no refunds or partial refunds will be offered solely on the basis that a client is unhappy with the aesthetic result of their chosen treatment. It is the client’s responsibility to carry out their own research before booking, including reviewing Sarah’s previous work, treatment style and portfolio, to ensure that SB BROW LOUNGE is the right artist and treatment provider for them.
Clients are highly encouraged to discuss their desired shape, colour, style and expectations with Sarah before treatment begins. The agreed treatment design will be discussed and approved prior to commencing the procedure. If you have concerns regarding your healed results, you must contact Sarah directly to arrange a in-person consultation so that the results can be assessed and any appropriate next steps discussed. Nothing within this refund policy affects your statutory rights where applicable.
